An Epic Men’s Club Shabbat

The Men’s Club at Temple Beth Sholom in Chandler, AZ hosted a wonderful Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat service on February 6, 2026 bringing together congregants for an evening filled with spirit, gratitude, and camaraderie. The service was meaningful and well-attended, highlighting the Men’s Club’s ongoing commitment to enriching synagogue life and strengthening our community.

One of the standout moments of the service was a thoughtful and engaging drash delivered by Jason Hecht, the Men’s Club President, centered on the theme of Epic Judaism.

His message was inspiring and relatable, reminding us how Jewish values, traditions, and everyday actions can be truly “epic” when lived with purpose and intention.

Another special highlight of the evening was the announcement of this year’s Mensch Award winner, honoring the individual who generously donated the most to the Men’s Club over the past year. The recognition was heartfelt and well-deserved, celebrating “Dennis Aust” someone whose generosity and dedication make a meaningful impact on the club and the congregation.

Following the service, the evening continued with great food and even better fellowship as the group headed to Rosita’s Fine Mexican Food in Mesa. Over a festive Mexican feast, members shared laughs, stories, and strengthened bonds—an ideal ending to a meaningful Shabbat night.
